Experimentele electronische kunst uit 1990 nu digitaal
Deze weken zijn we druk met het digitaliseren van het archief van ISEA, een organisatie die avant-gardistische electronische kunst in Nederland en ver daar buiten onder de aandacht probeert te brengen en de scene versterkt met symposia en exposities.
De meeste tapes, Umatic en VHS, hebben de tand des tijds redelijk doorstaan. Een extra uitdaging is wel dat een groot deel is opgenomen in de Amerikaanse TV standaard NTSC. Om het archief in een constante kwaliteit op te slaan vertalen we de NTSC tapes eerst naar Pal alvorens ze te digitaliseren. Dat doen we in dit geval in de hoogste kwaliteit door het materiaal ook te upscalen naar High Definition (HD).
Het archief zal publiek toegankelijk worden via ISEA Archives.

ISEA International was founded in the Netherlands in 1990, ISEA International (formerly Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts) is an international non-profit organization fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange among culturally diverse organizations and individuals working with art, science and technology. ISEA International Headquarters is supported by the University of Brighton (UK)
The main activity of ISEA International is the annual International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA). The symposia were initiated in 1988 by the Dutch Foundation for Creative Computer Applications (SCCA).
